24 Jul 2008Luang Por Sumedho will celebrate his 74th birthday on Sunday 27th July. The day will start with a community breakfast at 7.15 am, and all are welcome to mark the event by joining in the meal at 11.30 am. |

07 Jun 2008Ajahn Sumedho and senior members of the monastic community will give Dhamma Talks each Sunday between 2.00pm and 4.00 pm during the Vassa period, starting on Sunday 20th July and ending with Gratitude to Parent Day on 12 October. Refreshments will be served after the talk and there will be an opportunity to ask questions about the talk and on Buddhism in general. Titles for the talks will be place on the Events Diary of the website soon. |

31 May 2008A senior member of the Sangha will give a Dhamma Talk every Saturday at 7.30pm after the Evening Puja. All are welcome to attend.

01 May 2008This year’s Asalha Puja falls on Thursday 17th July. Sometimes called “Dhamma Day,” it commemorates the Buddha’s first discourse, which he gave to the group of five monks with whom he had practised in the forest for many years. Upon hearing this discourse, one of the monks ( Ven. Kondañña) gained his first glimpse of Nibbana, thus giving birth to the Noble Sangha. The annual Rains retreat (vassa) begins the following day. The evening puja will begin at 7.30pm, followed by a Dhamma talk by Ajahn Sumedho. |
