Winter Retreat

The community will begin its ‘Winter Retreat’ time on Monday 7th January. It is due to end on Monday 31st March.
During this time you are most welcome to attend the pujas and to visit during the day, but there will not be the usual accommodation for overnight guests.

The meditation workshops on Saturday afternoons between 2pm and 4pm will continue throughout this time.

Bhikkhu Dhirapunnyo, who usually lives at Cittaviveka Monastery, Chithurst, received full Bhikkhu ordination (Upasampadā) at Amaravati on Sunday 16th December.

Parking at Amaravati

There is ample space to park within the grounds of Amaravati, which can accommodate even large crowds on festival days. So when you visit, please find a space to park inside the gates of the monastery, leaving the spaces in the lane free for our neighbours in St Margaret’s Lane and their visitors. Your thoughtfulness will be much appreciated.
