On the full-moon of May, Didier, James, Andreas, Joao and Alex will be formally taking the eight-precepts, joining the community as white-robed anagārika. The same evening, Walter and Lawrence, who have been living in community as anagārika, will be requesting Pabbaja, the ‘Going-Forth’ as samaneras, or novice monks.
May 20 is also Vesākha Pūjā, the commemoration of the birth, enlightenment and passing away of the Buddha. The evening will start at 7.30 pm in the temple with chanting and meditation, followed by the ceremonies and a short talk. At approx 10.15 pm, there will be a candlelight circumambulation of the stupa, followed by a meditation vigil until midnight.
Everyone is very welcome to join us for this joyous occasion.
