Buddhist Women’s Network Day of Practice for Lay Women
Led by Jenni Jepson and Shirley McDonald
In a world that is filled with discontent and suffering, how can we find a path that leads to ease and happiness? The Buddha said that being ‘contented and easily satisfied, unburdened in duties and frugal in one’s ways…’ is part of the spiritual path. On this day we will explore what that means both in our meditation practice and in our daily lives.
The day will include periods of sitting and walking meditation, reflection, and group sharing on the theme.
Meet in the Retreat Centre Kitchen from 9.30 am, where hot drinks will be available. There will be a short orientation talk at 9.45 before a 10 am start in the shrine room. Please bring already prepared vegetarian food for a shared lunch. The event ends at 5 pm but if you are able to stay on and help clear up that would be much appreciated.
No booking is necessary, and there is no fee although donations to the retreat centre are welcome. All women including beginners and those new to this tradition are welcome
