Amaravati is very pleased to announce that we are scheduled to be blessed with a visit from the pre-eminent translator of the Pali Tipitaka into English of our time, and founder of ‘Buddhist Global Relief’, the Venerable Bhikkhu Bodhi. He is coming to the U.K. principally to participate in a conference organised by the Theravada Buddhist Sangha of the U.K., to be held at Wat Santiwongsaram in Birmingham, on June 22nd where he will be the keynote speaker.
During his time in the U.K. we will be hosting him for a few days at Amaravati and he has very generously agreed to offer a Dhamma talk on the evening of Thursday, June the 20th. The tentative program for the evening is:
19.00 Chanting & meditation (until 19:30)
19.30 Ajahn Amaro briefly introduces Bhikkhu Bodhi to the assembly followed by a talk (about 45 minutes) and Q&A
21.00 (at the latest) — close of session.
Please note the earlier-than-usual time that the session begins.
